The Jacksons - Can You Feel It

How about some epic 1981 Jackson action for ya.

The Skeleton Dance

Wow that was obscene. I think I need something silly to bring me back to normal. This should do the trick.

The Cinematic Orchestra - Manhatta

This is actually a soundtrack for the 1921 short silent film by Charles Sheeler and Paul Strand. Gotta say they did a fantastic job. Watch the whole thing, it's worth the eleven minutes.

NOTE: For some stupid reason the film company has taken this video down. Hopefully it'll be back up shortly, I'll repost it when it is.

Booker T. & The MG's - Green Onions

Was on the road on Friday, and spent yesterday recovering. Been a busy weekend and I'm beat, so here's some classic southern soul to hold you over until tomorrow. This one goes out to bass player Donald "Duck" Dunn who passed away in Tokyo earlier today. This is him in action circa the mid 1960's alongside his legendary band-mates Steve Cooper on guitar, Al Jackson on drums, and Booker T. Jones on the keys.

High Flight

The poem by John Magee, from an old television sign-off video.

BONUS POEM!

And since we're on the topic of poetry, this is my favorite narration of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven", voiced by Christopher Lee.

Marlon Brando interview from 1973

The legendary actor's fascinating interview with Dick Cavett nearly 40 years ago. This is at the age of 49 and immediately following his huge success with "The Godfather" and "Last Tango In Paris". Worth a watch for film fans.
