Here I Am!

I've returned from my long Irish sojourn intact! In my absence the world has evolved somewhat. It's warmer here in Halifax, Manchester City has toppled Manchester United from the top of the Premier League, Leinster and Ulster will do battle for Heineken Cup glory, the GOP race is down to Ron Paul vs Mitt Romney, Nicolas Sarkozy is no longer the president of France, T.E.E.D. has a new album on the way, and the Blogger interface has been updated! Oh how times have changed! Hahaha... prepare for new original music, and a new website that's taking longer than I had anticipated to get done. Need to get my energy levels back up. Coffee time!

Enormous classic movie poster collection

I don't know who's collection it is but it is utterly ridiculous. This is a crazy Star Wars poster from Hungary. I have absolutely no idea who or what the weird looking three-eyed lizard alien with the sword is supposed to be. Or why Darth Vader is missing a glove and kinda looks like a duck. Check out more here.

Awesome movie posters

By Olly Moss. Check them out here.

Oh look, a broccoli house!

Brilliant conceptual art by Brock Davis. There's more here.

Baby Cookie Monster

Still in the moving-in process, but the work space is good to go so things should start happening a little quicker. Now here's a picture of Cookie Monster as a baby.

The race to the bottom of the ocean

What would you do if you had more money than you knew what to do with? Richard Branson and James Cameron are having a race. A different kind of race. They're seeing who can make it to the bottom of the Mariana Trench first. Any bets on a winner?

35 fantastic HDR pictures

This is an old collection and you'll find lots more in the interwebs, but if you don't know what HDR photography is, this is a good introduction. In a nutshell it's a technique of using multiple exposures of the same picture to create a surreal image that captures a full range of light and color, more than any normal single exposure would. If that doesn't make any sense, just look at the these pictures and enjoy. This one is a late night in Toronto by Chris Carson. Awesome.

Six really, really old trees

A couple weeks ago Florida's legendary cypress tree "The Senator" burned down from a lightning strike. At some 3500 years old it was among the oldest trees on the earth. These giant old trees are pretty awesome sights, and while I would hardly call myself a "tree-hugger", I think some of these are probably worth keeping for a few more decades at least if we can help it. Check out these cool trees including the tree below, the Zoroastrian Sarv in Iran.
