Tom Waits - Way Down In The Hole

Tom Waits - All The World Is Green
Back again. A bit (a lot) earlier today. I feel we should do some more relaxing before the weekend arrives, because that looks like it could be hectic. No reason really, but it's December which invariably means mayhem 24/7. I'm looking forward to March.

Tom Waits - Looks Like I'm Up Shit Creek Again
No video for this, but I'm posting it anyway. This is how the American people will be feeling about their 'justice' system tomorrow. #EricGarner

A Brief History of John Baldessari
Sunday, Tuesday, same difference. It took me a day and a half to recover from the weekend. These things happen. The new website is officially under construction, and I have a tentative opening date for it, but I'm keeping it to myself so I don't blow it. Lots and lots of new music on the way as well. You might have noticed a couple extras I've posted on my Soundcloud. Oh, I now have a Mixcloud account too. Yippee. They'll be here soon. Here's some artistic inspiration for you. Back tomorrow with content.

Tom Waits - Tom Traubert's Blues
I haven't featured any Tom Waits yet. Today's as good a day as any, so here's a fine performance from The Old Grey Whistle Test circa 1977. Tom is definitely not for everyone. His gravelly style is brooding theatrical story telling at its finest. There are few smiles and little sunshine here. He seems to represent the every man, the blue collar worker, and has achieved cult status through it. Great stuff when you need a break from the incessant pop on today's mainstream music outlets.

United Steel Workers Of Montreal - Émile Bertrand
The United Steel Workers Of Montreal are at the Capital this Saturday night. In case you haven't seen 'em, I highly recommend attending. If you're into folk, bluegrass, Tom Waits, or just real good live music, you won't regret taking the time to check these guys out. Lots of energy, and great music. These guys always draw a big crowd, so be sure to get there early! This is one of their slower songs but it's still a goodie.
Gosh, that's swell.

Tom Fun Orchestra - Throw Me To The Rats
Who ever said everything on here has to be electronic? Hmm... nobody I guess... ok so let's try this...
FUN! Tom Fun. Tom Fun Orchestra! These guys are from lovely Cape Breton and they always put on a great show. I happened to find a couple vids online and here is one of them. They're a little nutty and I dig 'em. Think more upbeat folky Tom Waits.
Rats.
