David the Android

It's been a crazy month. Crazy. I'm off to Ireland. Back May 7. See ya then. In the meantime, say hello to David.

The Black Seeds - Pippy Pip

Some fresh reggae-style grooves from Wellington, New Zealand!

The Chemical Brothers - Don't Think

New live album out from the big beat floor killers. Here's a snippet of what we'll see on the DVD disc.

Our Lady Peace - Heavyweight

Raine Maida & Co. return with their first album in three years. They've hit a period of distinct mediocrity for the last decade, but here's hoping this one's a step back to what they do well. I like the rock feel of this track, so I'm optimistic about the rest of the album. Didn't really care for the video but give it a watch.

Brother Ali - Shine On

Dope track from the Brother's new EP.

Human face video mapping

This is pretty awesome, especially considering it was done with a couple projectors and with no post production or digital correction. Created by the evil Portuguese twins Oskar & Gaspar!

Nobody cares Moby

Ah, Space Ghost... my favorite episode was Chinatown. So good.

Charlie Sheen is reborn!

I've never drink the beer, but I appreciate the ad. Thanks Bavaria!

Music is therapeutic

Just another reason why I love music.

A dramatic surprise in Belgium

I like creative, comedic, and entertaining advertisements. Like this one.

Caine's Arcade

Stories like this shine small rays of hope on an otherwise despairingly gloomy future for humanity. Ever wonder why there are no feel-good stories about people at the top of the food chain?

How to break up a fight with nachos

Textbook effort right there.

US Attorney General's vote ballot offered to stranger

Yet another example of the crumbling, s(t)inking vessel that is American democracy. Broken, broken America. So utterly sad.

Jaws gets a facelift for Blu-Ray release

One of my favorite films of all time is coming out on Blu-Ray this August. Here's a fascinating look at the extensive restoration process involved.

The Secret to Success

Here is the full version of the now-legendary motivational speech by Eric Thomas. You might have heard parts of it before in videos like this one.

High Flight

The poem by John Magee, from an old television sign-off video.

And since we're on the topic of poetry, this is my favorite narration of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven", voiced by Christopher Lee.

Will I Am on risk

Forgive him for his Black Eyed Peas rubbish for a minute. The guy's also a DJ. Here he oh-so-eloquently explains the concept of risk.

Amazing World War II photography

This shot is unbelievable. Check out more here.

Fire sword fight

Jedi knights in training? Apparently these crazy guys do this for a living now.

Disturbing police footage

I'm not really a fan of everyone having video cameras on their cell phones. It all just seems a bit excessive and overly voyeuristic. When you see footage like this, however, you think that maybe it's a good idea. I don't really know where I stand. What I do know, however, is that there are a lot of good police officers out there who really need to stand up to their asshole coworkers because these shitty cops are giving you all a bad name. Warning: very disturbing footage inside.

The beauty of pollination

Here's some awesome slow motion footage of humming birds and bees and bats and butterflies in action.

MorpHex Part III

I haven't seen the first two parts, but The Franchise posted this the other day. This thing looks like those badass droidekas from Star Wars.

Meet Otter 501

On a somewhat more positive note, here's a baby otter.

Rex Murphy on the F-35 controversy

Sorry, been away longer than expected. Expect consistent updates for the next couple weeks before I'm on the road again.

The latest furor in the media has been the F-35 issue. I think I've given my stance on this topic many times before but here's Mr. Murphy's opinion. I wholeheartedly agree with every word.
